Air Peace explains disruption of Lagos–London flight, assures passengers of safety

West Africa’s largest airline, Air Peace, has explained the temporary disruption of its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick flight, attributing the delay to a minor technical fault discovered during routine checks.

In a statement issued by the airline’s management, Air Peace said the issue was detected after passengers had boarded the aircraft, prompting immediate safety measures in line with international aviation standards.

According to the airline, the aircraft was withdrawn from service shortly after the fault was identified, and passengers were safely disembarked.

The airline assured affected travellers that adequate support arrangements were made, including hotel accommodation and other necessary assistance to reduce inconvenience caused by the disruption.

The statement read in part: “Following the completion of passenger boarding, a routine post-boarding technical check identified a minor aircraft fault that required immediate attention.

“In line with our uncompromising commitment to safety and global aviation standards, the aircraft was promptly withdrawn from service and passengers safely disembarked.”

Air Peace further disclosed that a replacement aircraft would be dispatched from London to operate the flight, with passengers expected to depart later in the morning.

The airline reiterated its commitment to passenger safety and comfort, while apologising for the inconvenience caused by the delay.
