The Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, Dr. Grace Adagba, joined other education stakeholders in reviewing and validating the proposed 10-Year Universal Basic Education Road Map, 2026–2035.
The consultative meeting, convened by the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, was held in Abuja and brought together Chairmen of State Universal Basic Education Boards, UBEC officials and Directors of Planning, Research and Statistics from across the country.
The stakeholders also reviewed the Basic Education Action Plan Management System, BEAPMS, with particular emphasis on its requirements and implementation across the states.
In a statement by the Special Assistant, Corporate Communications and Community Engagements to the Benue SUBEB chairman, Msughter John Ataigbough, the meeting provided participants with an opportunity to examine the proposed roadmap and contribute their experiences to its development.

The statement explained that the BEAPMS was designed as a digital platform to transform the planning and management of UBEC interventions from largely manual processes to an integrated digital workflow.
According to the statement, the system would facilitate the development, submission, review and approval of state action plans, while also improving documentation, transparency, monitoring and accountability in the implementation of basic education programmes.
It said Adagba’s participation enabled Benue to share its experiences and lessons from the state’s ongoing efforts to reposition basic education under the administration of Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
The statement noted that Benue had continued to make progress in basic education reforms, particularly in the areas of digital literacy and the adoption of technology in education delivery.
It added that the discussions at the meeting would contribute to strengthening the framework for effective planning and implementation of basic education interventions across the country.

The proposed 10-Year Universal Basic Education Road Map, 2026–2035, is expected to provide a national framework for planning, intervention and delivery of basic education programmes over the next decade.
The roadmap is also expected to provide direction for states and other stakeholders in addressing emerging challenges and improving access to quality basic education nationwide.
