UNIPORT Shifts Resumption Date by Two Weeks

The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has postponed the resumption of academic activities for the 2025/2026 session by two weeks.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued by the Head of Information, Publications and Public Relations, Dr. Sam Kpenu, following a meeting of the Committee of Provosts and Deans held on Friday, October 31, 2025.

According to the statement, the committee reviewed the earlier resumption date of Monday, November 3, 2025, and resolved—after extensive deliberations on the ongoing admission process—to adjust the date to ensure the exercise is concluded smoothly.

The new date for the commencement of academic activities has now been scheduled for Monday, November 17, 2025.

Management expressed regret over any inconvenience the change may cause, stressing that the decision was taken in the best interest of the university community. It added that the extension would allow adequate preparation for the new academic session.

“Management appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all students, parents, and staff as it continues to uphold its commitment to academic excellence and effective service delivery,” the statement said.
