Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved the appointment of Prof. Emmanuel Ayangarumun Kenen as the Acting Vice Chancellor of Fr. Adasu University, formally Benue State University, Makurdi.

The appointment, according to a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, was made on the recommendation of the institution’s Governing Council, which nominated Prof. Kenen to serve in acting capacity for a maximum period of six months. The approval was in line with provisions of the law establishing the University, contained in Gazette No. 3, Vol. 45, Part III, 16 (11 & 12).

Governor Alia congratulated the new appointee and urged him to deploy his academic pedigree, administrative expertise, and leadership experience to effectively guide the institution through the transitional period.

He charged Prof. Kenen to uphold the university’s core values of excellence, discipline, innovation, and moral rectitude, stressing that Fr. Adasu University must continue to serve as a center of knowledge and character formation for graduates who can contribute meaningfully to the development of Benue State and Nigeria.

The Governor also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to repositioning tertiary education for global competitiveness through improved infrastructure, enhanced staff welfare, research development, and strengthened academic standards.
