NURTW Lagos Organising Secretary Dies After Reported Gun Attack

The Organising Secretary of the Lagos State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Comrade Toba Ajiboye, has reportedly died after sustaining gunshot wounds in a suspected assassination attempt.

According to reports, Ajiboye was attacked by yet-to-be-identified gunmen earlier in the day. He was said to have survived the initial attack and was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment.

However, despite efforts by medical personnel to save his life, the union official reportedly succumbed to his injuries.

Details surrounding the incident remain sketchy, as the circumstances leading to the attack and the identities of the assailants have yet to be established.

As of the time of filing this report, the Lagos State Police Command had not issued an official statement on the incident, while officials of the NURTW were also yet to comment publicly on the reported killing.

The incident has sparked concern among members of the transport union, with many awaiting further details from security agencies.
