JAMB extends 2026 Direct Entry registration deadline to May 22

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced another extension of the registration deadline for the 2026 Direct Entry (DE) application exercise.

According to the new directive, prospective candidates now have until May 22, 2026, to complete their registration.

The extension is aimed at giving applicants additional time to finalize their applications, especially those experiencing delays in obtaining required academic credentials and other supporting documents.

Recall that JAMB had earlier shifted the deadline to May 8, while also approving additional accredited registration centres across the country to ease the registration process.

The Board said the latest adjustment underscores its commitment to ensuring that all eligible candidates are properly captured in the 2026 admission exercise without being disadvantaged by administrative or logistical challenges.

Applicants have been urged to take advantage of the extended window and avoid last-minute rushes that could lead to avoidable errors or system congestion.

Meanwhile, JAMB is expected to intensify preparations for the 2026 admission cycle ahead of the annual policy meeting scheduled for May 11, 2026, where key decisions guiding the exercise will be finalized.
