A tragic incident has occurred in Oba, Anambra State, where a pregnant woman reportedly lost her life after falling while trying to escape from a stray cow during a burial ceremony.
Eyewitness accounts shared online indicate that panic broke out when a cow suddenly broke loose at the event, sending attendees fleeing in different directions for safety.
A friend of the deceased, Chinazor Peace Anyadiegwu, narrated the incident in an emotional Facebook post on Saturday, April 18, 2026.
She expressed shock over the sudden loss, noting that she had interacted with the woman just hours before the incident.
According to her, the deceased had stopped by her shop with her children shortly before the tragedy.
She said she was initially puzzled upon hearing that the woman had been running, considering her advanced stage of pregnancy, only to later learn that the chaos was triggered by the stray cow at the burial venue.
The incident has since sparked reactions online, with many expressing grief over the unfortunate turn of events.
