Sen. Moro denies defection rumour, reaffirms loyalty to PDP

Senate Minority Leader and Senator representing Benue South, Comrade Abba Moro, has dismissed as false a circulating report claiming he is preparing to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement signed by his Media Adviser, Emmanuel Eche’Ofun John, the Senator described the speculation as “ridiculous,” stressing that no conversation or meeting has taken place suggesting he is considering leaving the party.

“There is no discussion anywhere with anybody about my defection. The rumour is completely unfounded,” the statement quoted him as saying.

Moro, who is one of the founding members of the PDP, reaffirmed his commitment to the party, insisting he remains firmly aligned with its ideals and vision.

“I am fully committed to the ideals and values of our party and will continue to stand with the PDP,” he maintained.

While acknowledging that the PDP is currently grappling with internal challenges, the senator expressed confidence in the party’s ability to resolve them.

“Yes, the PDP is experiencing some crises, but the party has effective internal mechanisms to address these issues and come out stronger,” he said.

He urged the public to disregard the rumour, describing it as the handiwork of those unsettled by the PDP’s resilience.

“It is the work of mischief makers who are losing sleep over the PDP’s capacity to rebuild and remain competitive,” Moro added.

The Senate Minority Leader also called on PDP members across the country to remain steadfast and committed to the task of repositioning the party for future victories.
