Deputy Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and member representing Ado State Constituency, Mrs. Lami Danladi Ogenyi, has pledged to sustain people-oriented representation with renewed focus on education, youth empowerment, healthcare and legislative excellence after emerging as the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the 2027 House of Assembly election.
Ogenyi made the pledge in a statement issued in Makurdi after receiving the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination form presented to her by Governor Hyacinth Alia, signifying the party's affirmation of her candidature for another term.
The lawmaker assured constituents that, if returned to the Assembly, she would intensify efforts at expanding educational opportunities, youth empowerment through skills acquisition and job creation, while ensuring improved access to quality healthcare and enhanced social welfare across the constituency.
She also promised to initiate and support quality bills and motions that would directly impact the lives of the people and further accelerate development in Benue State.
"I will continue to be a representative who listens first, as I have always done through constant interaction with my people, and will always act in their best interest. Together, we will build an Ado State Constituency that works for everyone," she pledged.
The Deputy Speaker expressed appreciation to Governor Alia, APC leaders, party members and the people of Ado State Constituency for the confidence reposed in her.
"I am profoundly grateful to our visionary and people-oriented Governor, His Excellency Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, our indefatigable APC leaders, loyal party members and my beloved constituents for the trust, love and overwhelming support to fly the party's flag in Ado State Constituency once again," she said.
Describing the party's endorsement as both an honour and a call to greater service, Ogenyi said the milestone reflected the collective sacrifice, unity and commitment of party faithful and the people of the constituency to sustained progress.
She maintained that the renewed mandate was a clear indication that the people desired purposeful representation, grassroots development and effective advocacy at the Benue State House of Assembly.
The Deputy Speaker called on APC members and residents of Ado State Constituency to remain united, peaceful and committed to the party's success in the 2027 general elections.
