President Tinubu sympathises with Anthony Joshua over fatal road crash

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed sympathy with world heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua following a road crash that claimed two lives and left the boxer injured.
In a statement shared on his official X handle, the President described the incident as a tragic loss, noting that it has cast a sombre mood over the season.
“This immense tragedy casts a deep shadow on this season. I sympathise with you and your family as you bear the emotional weight of this unfortunate incident,” Tinubu said.
He praised Joshua for his discipline, courage and patriotism, describing the boxer as a source of national pride.
“As a sportsman, you have always shown courage, discipline, and unwavering love for our country. These are qualities that have made you a source of national pride,” the President added.
Tinubu also prayed for Joshua’s quick recovery and offered prayers for the victims of the crash.
“I pray for strength, wisdom, and grace for you during this painful period. May God grant you a speedy recovery and repose to the souls of the departed,” he said.
