2025 Nations Cup: CAF introduces free e-visas, streamline Fan ID system to ease travel for supporters heading to Morocco

Organisers of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have introduced free electronic visas for fans travelling to Morocco for the tournament. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organising Committee said the incentive applies to supporters from countries that usually require a visa to enter Morocco.

According to the announcement, e-visas obtained through the YALLA app are now “free of charge for supporters attending the competition,” scheduled for 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026. The move comes as global interest in the tournament surges, with thousands of fans already securing tickets on the official platform.

Officials also reiterated that all spectators must obtain a Fan ID to gain entry into stadiums and fan zones. The YALLA app now allows users to apply for both the Fan ID and e-visa in a single process.

“CAF supporters can apply for both the Fan ID and e-visa in one place inside the YALLA app, streamlining travel and stadium access,” the organisers said, adding that the system ensures a faster and more secure experience for both international visitors and local fans.

Supporters are required to download the YALLA app from Google Play, the App Store, or use the website, complete the Fan ID application, and then submit the e-visa request where applicable. Once approved, fans can purchase match tickets on CAF’s ticketing platform.

CAF said the new system is designed to improve organisation and security across all host cities. The tournament will be staged in nine stadiums across six Moroccan cities, with the football body promising a high-quality event.

So far, 298,000 tickets have been sold in the first two sales phases, with purchases coming from 33 African countries and 106 nations globally. The highest demand has come from Morocco, France, Belgium and the Netherlands.

The 2025 AFCON runs from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026. Nigeria, drawn in Group C with Tunisia, Uganda and Tanzania, will open its campaign against Tanzania on 23 December.
