Galatasaray’s record signing, Victor Osimhen, has more than justified his €75 million transfer fee from Napoli, with the Nigerian striker already generating an estimated €31 million for the Turkish champions through his performances and commercial appeal.

According to Turkish outlet Sportx, Osimhen’s goals in both the Turkish Super Lig and the UEFA Champions League have proven immensely profitable for the Istanbul club. The 26-year-old, who was instrumental in last season’s title triumph, reportedly helped the club earn €18.8 million from their European campaign alone.

Despite Galatasaray’s failure to secure points against Eintracht Frankfurt, victories over Liverpool and Bodø/Glimt—both inspired by Osimhen’s goals—brought in an additional €4.2 million, raising his total financial contribution from the Champions League to €23 million.

Describing Osimhen as “highly profitable for the club,” Sportx credited the forward’s clinical form for driving both sporting and financial success.

Off the pitch, Osimhen has also become a marketing phenomenon in Turkey. At the start of the season, Galatasaray launched a special Osimhen-themed merchandise line, including his signature mask and customised apparel. The collection reportedly sold 40,000 units through GS Stores, generating around 400 million lira (approximately €8.19 million) in revenue.

“Despite those who said ‘Osimhen cannot be given this much money,’ the Nigerian star has already returned almost a third of his transfer fee to the club’s coffers,” Sportx reported.

Osimhen’s influence has also been evident in Galatasaray’s unbeaten league run this season, with the club earning an additional 240 million lira in performance-based rewards. His recent brace in the 3–1 win over Bodø/Glimt extended his scoring streak to seven consecutive European matches—a new club record that surpassed Burak Yılmaz’s six-game streak. His third-minute strike in that match also marked Galatasaray’s fastest-ever goal in the Champions League.

With 42 goals in 49 appearances since joining the Turkish champions, Osimhen has already overtaken club legends Xhevat Prekazi and Shabani Nonda on Galatasaray’s all-time scorers list.

Club president Dursun Özbek has moved to dismiss transfer speculation, insisting that Osimhen remains central to the team’s long-term plans.

“Osimhen’s contract has no exit clause. He is extremely successful and will serve Galatasaray for many years,” Özbek told Fanatik.

He added that the €75 million fee, once viewed as excessive, has already proven a sound investment that reflects Galatasaray’s ambition and transparency in the transfer market.

Vice President Abdullah Kavukçu also hailed the Super Eagles striker, saying:

“There are players in the world worth €140 million, but Osimhen is more talked about. We’ve seen what he’s doing in the Champions League. We’re so happy he’s with us.”
