NCAA seeks information as VDM and Mr Jollof clash in mid-flight altercation

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has launched a call for urgent information following a mid-flight altercation between social media personalities VeryDarkMan (VDM) and Mr Jollof. The incident, believed to have occurred on Monday, was captured in a viral video showing both men struggling in an aircraft aisle as passengers attempted to intervene.
Responding to the footage, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, posted on X, quoting one of the clips and requesting details from the public. “If you are kind enough to provide the name of the airline in whose aircraft this incident occurred, and the date, it would help investigations,” he wrote.
The circumstances leading to the confrontation remain unclear. Some accounts suggest the clash may have started before take-off, but neither the airline involved nor any passengers have issued official statements.
VDM and Mr Jollof have been embroiled in a long-running online feud. VDM previously accused Mr Jollof and his wife of defamation, alleging that his home address was leaked online, forcing him to take refuge in a hotel for safety.
In October 2024, Mr Jollof’s wife filed a N500 million defamation suit against VDM, demanding a public apology across various media platforms.
Their dispute escalated further when VDM publicly attacked her character, accusing her of inappropriate conduct with internet fraudsters, a claim that triggered intense reactions across social media.
