Tinubu sets up reconciliation committee to resolve APC crisis in Benue

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has constituted a high-level reconciliation committee for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State, in a move aimed at resolving internal disputes and strengthening party unity.

The committee is chaired by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen and is mandated to heal rifts within the party, engage aggrieved stakeholders, and propose practical solutions to foster cohesion ahead of future political engagements.

Its findings and recommendations will be submitted to President Tinubu for further action.

Other members of the reconciliation panel include the Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zullumi; Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni; former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and Alhaji Ibrahim Masari.

The committee will be supported administratively by Prof. Jake Dan-Azumi, who will serve as Secretary.

Speaker Abbas’s appointment follows his widely acknowledged role in stabilising the APC in Bauchi State earlier this year, a feat that has further strengthened his reputation as a consensus builder and a trusted party leader capable of navigating complex political challenges.

The initiative underscores the APC leadership’s broader commitment to consolidating unity, promoting internal harmony, and reinforcing the party’s organisational strength at the state level, particularly in Benue State.
