Byuan joins Labour Party after exit from APC, receives warm welcome in Benue state

The Labour Party in Benue State has announced the defection of Dr. Terwase Matthias Byuan from the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a notable political shift ahead of future electoral activities.

Dr. Byuan, a former governorship aspirant under the APC and until recently the Executive Director of Finance at the Federal Housing Authority (FHA) during President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, officially resigned from the ruling party before joining the Labour Party.

His entry into the Labour Party was confirmed in a statement issued by Hon. Chief Philip Agbese, the Labour Party leader in Benue State and member representing Ado/Okpokwu/Ogbadibo Federal Constituency.

Agbese described Byuan’s defection as a welcome development, noting that his experience in governance and public service would strengthen the party’s structure in the state.

According to the statement, the State Chairman of the Labour Party, Hon. Williams Okefie, alongside other party leaders, is scheduled to formally present Byuan’s membership registration card during a brief ceremony.

Welcoming the new entrant, Agbese expressed optimism about the party’s growing strength in Benue State, stating that the development aligns with ongoing efforts to expand the party’s influence and grassroots support.

The Labour Party further described Byuan’s arrival as a boost to its political base in the state as it prepares for future engagements.
