Dr. Adagba orders swift completion of Benue SUBEB projects, moves to expand RCM Ihugh

The Executive Chairman of the Benue State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Dr. Grace Adagba, has directed contractors handling projects at RCM Primary School, Ihugh in Vandeikya Local Government Area, LGA, of the state to ensure speedy completion before the onset of the rainy season.

She gave the directive on Tuesday during an inspection tour of the school, where she supervised ongoing infrastructural projects and assessed facilities for possible expansion.

The Information Officer of the Board, Emmanuella Akese in a statement pointed out that the SUBEB Chairman stressed the importance of quality and timely execution of projects, noting that the state government remains committed to improving learning environments across Benue.

“All contractors must ensure that these projects are completed before the rains begin. We cannot afford delays that will disrupt academic activities,” she said.

According to her, “Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia is committed to providing conducive learning environments, and we must align with that vision through quality and prompt delivery.”

As part of the visit, the SUBEB boss also surveyed available land within the school premises for the proposed expansion of the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Junior Secondary School (JSS) section.

The expansion, she explained, is aimed at increasing access to basic education and strengthening the transition from primary to junior secondary education in the community.

Dr. Adagba further used the opportunity to interact with newly recruited teachers posted to the school, urging them to remain committed to their responsibilities.

“You must remain dedicated, hardworking, and professional in the discharge of your duties. Uphold professionalism, promote unity of purpose, and embrace teamwork to enhance effective service delivery in our education sector," she urged.

Responding on behalf of the staff, the Principal of UBE JSS Ihugh, Mr. Msugh Gbev, and the Head Teacher of RCM Primary School, Mr. Joseph Yachiga, commended the Executive Chairman for her proactive leadership.

They expressed appreciation for her visit and assured her of their commitment to supporting the Board’s vision of delivering quality basic education in Benue State.
