Eid-el-Fitr: NITP President urges members, fellows to uphold values of service, excellence

The National President of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), TPL Dr. Ogbonna Chime, has extended warm Eid-el-Fitr greetings to Muslim members and fellows of the institute, urging them to sustain the values of compassion, service and professional excellence.
In a statement issued by the National Public Relations Secretary of the institute, Dr. Chiahemba Nor, Dr. Chime described Eid-el-Fitr as not only a celebration of faith but also a reminder of enduring virtues that promote unity and development.
“Eid-ul-Fitri is not only a celebration of faith but also a reminder of the enduring values of compassion, sacrifice, devotion and service to humanity,” he said.
He congratulated Muslim members and their families on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, expressing hope that the blessings of the sacred season would bring peace, prosperity and renewed strength to communities.
“As we mark the completion of Ramadan, may the blessings of this sacred season bring peace, prosperity, and renewed strength to our communities,” Chime stated.
The NITP President further urged members to imbibe and sustain the spirit of generosity and devotion demonstrated during Ramadan in their professional duties, particularly in shaping cities that reflect harmony, resilience and sustainability.
“Let us carry forward the spirit of generosity, devotion and commitment during the blessed month into our professional calling and strive for excellence in shaping our cities to reflect harmony, resilience, and sustainability,” he added.
He also called on members to continue engaging in acts of service that uplift society and contribute to national development, saying “I urge us all to continue spreading joy, deepening our devotion, and engaging in acts of service that uplift society. Together, we can build an illustrious future for our Institute, our nation, and future generations,” he said.
Dr. Chime prayed for divine acceptance of prayers and good deeds, wishing members continued success and a peaceful celebration. “May the Almighty Allah accept our prayers, reward our good deeds, and grant us continued success. Eid Mubarak,” he said.
